David Piper - 1969 Porsche 917K at the Goodwood 74th Members Meeting (Photo 1)
Its been a while since I posted one of these 917K shots taken at the 74th Members Meeting.
This particular car, chassis 917-013, was sold to Mark Finburgh by Porsche AG in 1974, reputedly for £9000, having been rebuilt from the 034 chassis (a car with no history) after suffering damage during the making of the film Le Mans, when David Piper crashed the car at Arnage, resulting in the loss of his leg.
