BL - Beautiful Lady
Went to Fast Eddie's Bon Air on Sunday night with Ron, Pam and Chrissy. Was a first time for the three of them (not for me). Ron was a little surprised to see the massive crowd of people when we first walked in. This place is freakin' huge, and then last year they added an enclosed patio to trump the Illinois smoking ban, basically adding double the occupancy to an already super crowded place.
This place is a legendary roadhouse bar and grill, famous for a menu with less than 10 menu items. They have 1/2 pound burgers (Fat Eddie Burger) for just 99 cents, the Big Elwood Steak on a Stick for $2.99. You really have to see this place in action to believe it.
Not to mention they have the coldest beer in town (not just a boast), and some rockin' live entertainment. This place is always packed, and it sort of a legend in its own.
Originally owned by the Busch family, it had to be sold since state law prohibited brewers from owning any bar. It has been around since the 1920's in Alton, Illinois, and the rich history of Alton is livened up by this place.
This little lady captured my attention inside here. She had a natural beauty, a sincere look of happiness on her face, and an innocence I would kill to have again. Wondered if the BL on the bottle didn't stand for Beautiful Lady!
