Purple Rain

Hello, arcus cloud! This is the leading edge of a rather dramatic squall line roaring through central Kansas, May 26, 2006. I think most chasers avoid squalls because they find them boring, but when they get worked up real well like this one, I love them; they're some of the most visually striking stuff out there and relatively easy to reposition on. Not sure why the rain came out purple -- I suspect it's a mixture of the rainshaft / hailshaft colors and the colors of the setting sun.

This was an amazing storm.
