Union Square MTA Fare Hike Rally
MTA Service Specialists are preparing to perform at the rally.
Facebook group "1,000,000 People Against the NYC MTA Fare Hike" organized a rally against the second proposed fare hike within months. Speakers from Transportation Alternatives, NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign, Working Families Party, Keep New York Moving Coalition, COMMUTE as well as public figures and teachers spoke to a large crowd in Union Square Park today.
They are asking New Yorkers to reach out to government about what will be a historically unprecedented 25% rate hike, which possibly could be avoided if the State Senate comes back from vacation to address.
