Hemer, Hademarebad
(Interesting mainly for people who know the area and want to see what changed already. I visit the place from time to time to keep myself posted. Hemer is preparing for the Landesgartenschau 2010 (State Horticulutural Show, German source).)
The Hademarebad (Hademare bath - the Hemer indoor swimming pool), built in 1973, is one of the buildings most people consider 'ugly' now. Like many other things, it does look a bit better in the evening sun. While the Hademarebad will remain there, there's a lot of digging going on around it: in the background you can see the Hademareplatz, in front of the building I heard there will be some more parking space, and right across the street (Bahnhofstrasse) there's the former train station and railroad tracks which are gone for good now.
