ABOUT AYUNTAMIENTO DE MANILA

Las Casas Consistoriales de Manila (or popularly known as Ayuntamiento de Manila) is one of the historical buildings inside Intramuros, City of Manila. The present structure is the fourth reincarnation of the building since 1571 (and one of the victims of WWII). The building remained as ruins until 2011, when Bureau of Treasury decided to revive Ayuntamiento as its main office. One of the famous attractions inside the building is the marble hall where its floor is made of marble, and the design looks like from the designs of the palaces in Europe.

The building has its functions as time goes by:

1. Office of the "Cabildo" or the City Council of Manila (which today is equivalent to the LGU of Manila.)

2. Philippine Legislature (American Era)

3. Supreme Court (American Era)

4. Bureau of Treasury (present; after its restoration and reconstruction on 2014)
