The Saura tribe is one of the ancient indigenous communities primarily located in the southern hilly districts of Odisha. They are known for their unique Idital art, ceremonial wall paintings that honor ancestors and deities, and their animistic, ancestral-spirit-focused religion. Historically hunter-gatherers, they now practice both terraced and shifting cultivation.
