Seljalandsfoss

Our guide told us that two days prior to our arrival at this location, a boulder had fallen in the area behind the main falls. While waiting for his charge in the adjacent parking lot, he had heard a loud noise - which he thought unusual. No reported injuries as the area is now closed off...

Needless to say we could not explore behind the falls, but managed to get close enough to feel the spray and of course snap a few photos.

Seljalandsfoss is located in the South Region in Iceland right by Route 1 and the road that leads to Þórsmörk Road 249. The waterfall drops 60 m (197 ft) and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull.
