Morning Glory Pool . . .
. . . This gorgeous hot spring pool is just a few hundred yards from Old Faithful. I would normally use a picture of it in my "Sterilization" lecture to show how different bacteria are adapted to living in different temperatures of hot water. These bacteria can then be used to prove sterilization has occurred on hospital equipment.
The National Park Service has moved the road away from this pool, as too many people were throwing coins and junk into the pool and interfering with the flow of hot water, and threatening it with a change in the color of bacteria that could live here and give it it's famous blue color.
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!
