I thought this might be past its prime...
but on the closeup shot below you can see the spores contained under that icy mantle!
So maybe my first thoughts were wrong, but I guess there isn't much likelihood of a thaw for a little while now… and the ice crystals will probably destroy it!
This tiny fungi - about 1.5 cm at its broadest is Exidia recisa, its sometimes called Willow Jelly or Amber Jelly Roll - not big enough to eat though ;o)
