Bull Run

Or Manassas in Virginia is the location of the first battle of the American Civil War. On July 21st, 1861 Union & Confederate forces gathered in what was thought to be a quick & glorious fight only to be dragged on for another 4 more bloody years.

Union & Confederate forces will once again meet here on August 28th - 30th, 1862 to battle it out in the second Manassas or second "Bull Run."

The House you see located behind the large tree is that of Judith Hill whom was the first civilian casualty killed when Union forces lobbed shells into the house to flush out Confederate sharpshooters.

To the right of the house stands the Battle Monument dedicated " In memory of the Patriots who fell at Bull Run July 21st, 1861."
