Greetings, my fellow Flickrees! I know this might come as a surprise to you but yes, I'm still alive and kicking! And taking photographs again. Obviously. :-)
This one's the result of a collaboration with DJ and Bodypainter Toby. He's got hell of a talent and we will be working together again soon. He came up with this idea when we first met. He wanted to do a Kill Bill bodypaint and asked me if I could shoot and retouch it. He even provided the Hattori Hanzo replica. Poor Theresa had to sit and stand still for nearly 5 hours. The photo shoot itself took about 1,5 hours.
As you might have noticed I've been on a creative break lately. After finishing my 52 weeks project I hardly felt the urge to pick up my camera again. But since drama group was put on a hold for this year, I started to think about doing some bigger photo projects. And then my fellow photographer Andi came up with this intriguing idea for a calendar and asked me to get involved. It's called "Painted Heroes 2013", which means there's superheroes involved so I needn't give it a second thought *g*. For me, it's the biggest collaboration so far with 2 other photographers, one bodypainter and about 8 stylists / visagists. I ended up doing 4 of the 12 calendar sheets, including concept, shooting and processing. Right now we're choosing the models and shooting starts by the end of May. The whole project is covered by the local media and I can't tell you how excited I am about it! I don't know if or when I'll be able to post some results here on Flickr, but at least you will get to see some behind the scenes shots. Stay tuned! :-)
Strobist info: One Yongnuo YN560 at 1/2 power zoomed to 50 mm shot through a Westcott umbrella from high left. One Nissin Di866 at 1/2 power zoomed to 50 mm shot through a Westcott umbrella from low left (makes two aligned umbrellas, one on top of the other). One flagged LumoPro LP120 at 1/4 power zoomed to 24 mm from back left for some rimlight. All flashes were fired by Cactus V4 radio triggers.
