Steve Jobs (24 Feb 1956 – 5 Oct 2011)
As Apple’s website says “Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has an amazing human being” as Steve Jobs lost his 7 years battle with pancreatic cancer, aged just 56 years old.
Love him or hate him, he packed a lot into his short life. Forming Apple in 1976 with Steve Wozniak, launching the macintosh in 1984, a spectacular fall out and departure in 1985 to form NeXT with just $7m, buying and transforming lucasfilms graphics art dept in 1986 and turning it into Pixar, undoubtably the greatest animation studio, selling NeXT back to Apple in 1996, turning his $7m into $429m in just 11 years, and then going on to change the world with the iMac, iPod, iPhone and iPad …. revolutionising many things we almost take for granted today.
