Independence Day Fireworks Return
This photo was taken on July 4th at the Ravalli County Fairground's field in Hamilton, Montana. We citizens had to wait two years for a resumption of this wonderful and colorful tradition: the annual Independence Day fireworks display, which consists of 25 minutes of visual splendor, explosions, squeals and laughter, and a lot of oooooh and ahhhhhs. As well it should.
In the end, I came away with over 50 unique compositions of fireworks superimposed over each other, the exposures taking between 5 and 10 seconds.
It is always a lot of fun sitting in a camp chair and tripping the shutter of my trusty DSLR with a shutter cable. The pyrotechnic experts do their thing, and I do mine. Pretty much a partnership made in heaven. Well, leaving the parking lots all at the same time is a bit of a challenge, even in a small town like Hamilton.
But, with a bit of patience, we were all out in 20 minutes. Well worth it for an aerial extravaganza like this.
