For me it really starts to feel like summer when the first grosbeaks arrive, probably because it pretty reliably coincides with me wrapping up work. So, happily, today a pair showed up and hung around for the evening. Here are the dates of first arrival for which I have notes: May 15, 2011, May 8, 2012, May 30 2015, May 28, 2016, May 4, 2017, May 8, 2018. Black-headed grosbeak, backyard Olympia.
