Watercress & Grapefruit.
So this photo is (obviously) inspired by *Cinnamon, and her beautiful window set.
I have been tagged by the amazingly talented Molly, www.flickr.com/photos/firstyallplay/4238289970/ so here are my ten things-
1. 2010 looks like it could, and most likely will be, the most exciting year of my life thus far. I'm graduating from college in May, and getting married in June. Right after the wedding, Eric & I will be moving in together, which means I'll be living in yet another city. I can't believe this is all happening in nearly 5 months from now.
2. I need to plan the wedding. We have ideas. Things like sitting on hay bales for the ceremony, having the wedding outside a barn on my friend's parents' land in the country, having lawn games like croquet and a badminton tournament, a pig roast, and dance in the barn to wrap up the night. All these things are plans, but I haven't really begun to figure out the logistics of it all. I should probably do that real soon. . .
3. Jesus is my rock.
4. I'm a pretty frugal person. There's a thrift store where Eric lives that prices their clothing per pound. I'm not kidding you. $1 per pound, to be exact. So now, when I go to the clearance rack of a store, and a shirt is $3, I pick it up, and scoff at how the thing doesn't even weigh a quarter of a pound, and they want $3 for it! It's bad, I know, but hey, Eric doesn't have to worry about a wife who goes on a shopping spree and spends loads of money, shopping sprees for me are normally under $10!
5. If 4 years ago you would have told me that when I get married I would be excited to be the type of wife who tries her best to have tasty food on the table when her hubby gets home, I wouldn't have believed you one bit. Eric is still a way better cook than me, but I love cooking, and I especially love cooking for other people.
6. I've just recently realized how much I've grown in photography within the past year. I bought my camera in May of '09, and since then I've learned a ton about photography. If you would have handed me an SLR a year ago and told me to take some pictures with it, I wouldn't have known what to do unless it was on automatic everything.
7. This past Saturday, for the first time I got to help photograph a wedding. A friend from college does wedding photography professionally (jkruit photography), and asked me if I'd like to come along to help out. I had an awesome time, (despite being nearly barefoot in -8 degree weather for 20 mins!), and learned quite a bit.
8. I don't own a tv, neither does Eric. We like to watch the Office online, along with Chuck. I don't think we'll ever own a tv though, there's just too much time that's wasted with it in my opinion.
9. I believe that foods have more of a nourishing effect than most people realize. I try my best to think about what kind of food I'm putting in my body, and if I know it's not going to benefit me in some way, I don't eat it. That being said, note that I did say I try my best. There are plenty of times you can catch me munching on tortilla chips, sneaking truffles from the freezer, or convincing others to go get ice cream with me.
10. I was in choir in high school, and miss it so much. Music is amazing. Some of my all-time favorite artists/bands are Sufjan Stevens, Simon & Garfunkel, Frank Sinatra, Fleet Foxes, Regina Spektor, Ben Folds, Crosby Stills & Nash, Nickel Creek, along with so many others.
I know I'm supposed to tag 10 others, but seriously, who hasn't done one of these yet? I'm going to try and find a handful of people, but if you haven't done it yet, and you're reading this, I tag YOU! (oh, and if I do tag you, and you don't want to do it, just untag yourself, no biggie.)
