A National Trust property.

The building dates from the 14th century, built in the style of a traditional Cornish Long House, .and would have originally had a thatch roof.

In Victorian times it was briefly used as a mail receiving office . It was saved from demolition in 1895 by a lady, Catherine Eliza Johns. She had the house renovated and lived there until 1903 when it was bought ny the Trust

Catherine Johns died in 1925.
