P1000007-exposure-blend-comparison

Shot Info:

Shots 7-9 from my new LX2 in (P) mode 10MP 16:9 aspect by hand. All picture process settings to low, except sharpness to high.

Shot through a tinted glass window, some reflection artefacts present.

Purpose:

Testing auto bracketing feature -1/0/+1

Testing exposure-blend script-fu plugin for GIMP 2.4.

Running portable X-Gimp 2.4.4-rev6 wrapper.

exposure-blend notes:

Dark layer given priority, and 100% opacity.

Bright layer still too bright, set opacity 0.

Therefore comparison image only showing the normal and dark used.

Layer alignment of bright and dark required 2-4 nudges, perfect result from hand shot.

Images reduced to 590x1050 for a new comparison canvas, text labels added.

No other post-processing.

Conclusion:

A slightly brighter sky from dark, and slightly darker foreground from normal. Best of both worlds for an automated workflow without touching a mask!
