De Helper is a polder mill on the east bank of the Lake of Paterswoldsemeer in the municipality of Groningen, in the hamlet of Nijveensterkolk.
The mill was built in 1863 south of the city of Groningen for the drainage of the polder Helpman with the help of a mortar. The mill became out of use in the sixties of the twentieth century and fell into disrepair. Due to the expansion of the city of Groningen and the construction of the A28 in 1969, the mill was demolished in its original location and rebuilt in 1971 at the lake of Paterswoldsemeer. The drainage is now installed in a circuit for water circulation of the ditches on the eastern side of the lake. The mill is operating on a voluntary basis.

De Helper is een poldermolen op de oostelijke oever van het Paterswoldsemeer in de gemeente Groningen, in het gehucht Nijveensterkolk.
De molen is in 1863 gebouwd ten zuiden van de stad Groningen voor de bemaling van de polder Helpman met behulp van een vijzel. De molen raakte in de jaren zestig van de twintigste eeuw definitief buiten gebruik en raakte in verval. De molen werd vanwege uitbreiding van de stad Groningen en de aanleg van de A28 in 1969 op zijn oorspronkelijke plek afgebroken en in 1971 bij het Paterswoldsemeer weer opgebouwd. De bemaling is nu in een circuit aangelegd voor watercirculatie van de sloten aan de oostelijke kant van het meer. De molen is op vrijwillige basis in bedrijf.
