burn away

These colors

drew my eye

to you.

Brilliance

burning

in the last light of day.

I stand

at attention

to catch it.

I've only a moment.

For I know

soon,

the shadows

will come

to overtake the light.

The days,

shorter.

The nights,

longer.

Tomorrow comes,

and so does too,

the killing frost.
