Mission 5.2: Sphinx of Cularin

Next assignment? Retrieve the coördinates for ouyr next 'point of interest'. Easy as pie, or at least it seemed. Nexu Squad, Eli and I headed to the latest point where the Bogeys have been seen.

 

"Well, no trace of them anywhere around this bunker."

"No kidding. Didn't Intel say the Tarasin were holding them in some kind of trench?"

"That was about seventeen fucking hours ago. No way they are still there."

"Sir?"

"Yes, Eli?"

"There's a swamp over there. My best guess is that they fled into it in order to get away from those beasts."

"Hmm, sounds reasonable. Nexu Squad, follow me. Aimbot, keep that rangefinder down. See if you can find anything."

"Copy that, sir."

 

"Ugh, I hate swamps. They're all so sticky. Yech"

"Stop whining. What kind of soldier are you?"

"Hmpf."

"Vinnie?"

"Sir!"

"Any incoming transmissions?"

"Negative. I think they have been slaughtered, seeing the amount of burnholes in the trees."

"Good poi-"

"Hey, water! Fresh water!"

"For Bantha's sake, Rocky, stop interrupting me."

"But sir, we are thirsty!"

"Alright, one drink. At least this river is clear, no fancy coloured water."

"Thank you, sir."

 

As we stopped for a drink, and to refill our bottles, Eli noticed something.

 

"Sir, I think I see a helmet floating over there. It's heading our way."

"I think you are right. It looks like an ARF helmet."

"It is. Let's check it out."

"Sir, there's a datapad hidden inside there!"

"Is there any usable information we can retrieve?"

"There is, actually. This little bastard contains the Coördinates we were looking for!"

"Whoa, that soldier must have hidden it before the ambush. Nice job, Eli."

"Always glad to help, sir."

"Let's get this baby back to our basecamp."

"Yes sir!"
