I’ll take “Grammy Nominated Artists that have been in the Trunk of the Family Car for $500, Alex.

Who is Tyler Childers. That is correct! So who is Tyler Childers? Well if you like any decent, real, country music you already know him. I’ve been shooting this kid since 2015 off and on, here and there. The last time we saw him play was this past March, when he opened for his producer of his two most recent albums, Sturgill Simpson, to a sold out Rupp Arena in Lexington Kentucky. The Good Look’n Tour is postponed indefinitely for now, but that will give you time to google him up and listen to his music. I hadn’t liked country music since I was a little kid running around in Granny Betty’s restaurant (in her house) playing J5 on the jukebox to hear “Rollin in my Sweet Baby’s Arms” by Flatt and Scruggs. He’s got an old soul and songwriting on par with the late great John Prine. He opened for Mr. Prine in June 2018 at Cincinnati’s Taft Theatre when we kidnapped him once again after the show to do a private portrait shoot as a gift to my friend Morrella Raleigh, owner of the famous Southgate House Revival. We picked him up in the same car, our beloved 1968 Impala convertible. I turned and asked him what his thoughts were on his growing fame, having already traveled Europe and other far away lands and his album Purgatory having taken off. He said “Lisa with the attention span the world has now, I would not be surprised if I’m back playing chili cook offs and county fairs a year from now”. Welp, that didn’t happen, because it doesn’t happen to singer songwriters that are impossible to ignore, much less forget. I’m so proud of him and the entire band for just touring and writing and singing and working their asses off to get where they are. He makes Kentucky proud.
