Finally tracked down where these bath house tiles came from, found on a local antique store’s property. At one time a symbol of “good fortune” or “well being”. This hooked cross motif seems to have been used in Eurasia as early at 7,000 years ago. But I found more info about that it also originated in India.

Anyway, the tiles came from the old Colonial Hotel and Bath house in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. It, along with many other hotels, had therapy baths during the late 1800s till around the 1970s. Yes, even today Mt. Clemens is called “bath city” The Colonial hotel closed shortly after 1975 , and burning down in May 1984.
