THE LAST SUPPER
Late afternoon meal in Superior, Arizona. Lovely little diner on the main drag. Grilled cheese, French Fries and a huge to-die=for chocolate malt. After eating, we drove to Phoenix and accessed our motel room. I had been in touch with Flickr friend Rich Gross, (www.flickr.com/photos/r-gross-arizona/ ) and we were planning to do a photo shoot the next morning. As it turns out, my gallbladder had other ideas, and that night I ended up in the ER of a Phoenix hospital. They pumped me full of pain killers and we returned to the motel about 7 the next morning. The next thing I remember was waking up with the wife laying next to me reading. I looked at my phone and it said 3 o'clock. So I asked her what the hell she was doing reading at 3 in the morning. That's when she told me it was afternoon. Wow! Guess I missed a few hours. We kept the room for that night, canceled the photo shoot with Rich and left for home the next morning.
A very sad end to a wonderful trip. But just ending the trip would have been sufficiently sad anyway.
Thus, this is likely the last post in the "All Across America" album. If you've been along for the trip, I thank you. You've been great company.
P.S. A week later I ended up back in the ER in Fresno on a Saturday night. They admitted me and the next morning my evil gallbladder was removed. I'm fine now.
