Des Moines has a loft explosion. You almost have to see it to believe it. Most are taking out blighted and old areas of warehouses and similar operations. Here we see Rowat Lofts. A not yet completed 162 unit complex. The "sculpture" is the crane that was used by the previous occupant of this land, Rowat Stone Co. Here is the back story:

The really cool thing about this is that they saved this crane used in the stone yard, and it now makes for a cool sculpture. Great idea IMHO.
