"FREEDOM'S JUST ANOTHER WORD FOR NOTHING LEFT TO LOSE"
I watch too much t/v. But as a culture critic, I guess I need to be attuned (isn't it ironic that that is the same as "tuned in?"), to what the masses are hearing and seeing. As if the vapid content weren't enough, American television is jam packed with commercials. A huge amount of them are for pharmaceuticals. You'd swear that all Americans are suffering from psoriasis, hepatitis, diabetes or IBS. And goddamed if they don't have a cure for all of it. As if you could self-diagnose and then order up some drugs. But today's rant is about the patriotism card being played by damn near everyone. Flags, or parts thereof are affixed to or superimposed on every possible surface. Is there a condom made with the U.,S. flag on it yet? If not, there should be, because we're all getting screwed by the concept of American Exceptionalism.
