Symbols of Fortune - Forbidden City

Gave this a painterly treatment. The dust from the ages accentuated some detail on the bat here. Bats are actually symbols of good fortune as the sound of the name for bat in Mandarin (Bianfu) has the same sound as "Fortune Abounds" or "Fortune is all around". The Swastika design is originally from Buddhist and Indian culture as an auspicious symbol of peace and fortune. The background motif is something similar to what you might see in ancient Greek and Roman designs.
