Male Bluebird

It's been several weeks since I last posted one of the bluebird shots I got from my friend Kevin's yard.

The male and female hatched a healthy brood of 5. Sparrows killed one as a nestling. The babies got to 4 days before fledging and the female disappeared (we assume killed). The male managed to raise the babies to present (they've been fledged 2-3 weeks now). As of last weekend, he found a new girlfriend and is trying to interest her in nesting activities (with no success). The new girlfriend hates the previous babies, which are still being fed by their father. The babies are becoming tamed just like their father (feeding on mealworms).
