Japanese Maple - Shojo Nomura

We bought a new Japanese maple for our backyard - it appears to fit right in.

One thing I learned about plants like this: when your maple leaves do not get a lot of sunlight, they don't turn red.

It means 'Dancing Red-Faced Monkey'. This tree grows up to 16ft when mature.

5-10', MATSUMURAE, red . Bright, orange-red mottling on purple-red ribbon like foliage gives this small, cascading tree a distinctive appearance. It holds its color to the end of summer, when it bursts into clouds of brilliant crimson. A rare and little known cultivar
