*In 1990 I photographed the 'Oka Crisis" (also known as Kanehsatake) as a journalist, which is where I first saw Alanis Obomsawin, in the process of making her film, Kanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance, which screened on this final day of the festival. I wore my Blockade sweatshirt in her honour and am so glad to finally make her acquaintance after all these years! There is a set containing several of my 1990 "Oka" photos on this flickr site at www.flickr.com/photos/dawnone/sets/72157616638038599/
