Thorn Alpha 3 (Geared)
This is the integrally geared version of the popular Alpha 3 lantern, and the aluminium shoe makes the lantern quite a size. The original control gear is fitted which runs a 250w SON lamp, and original photocell would probably have been an RTE P5 thermal. The lantern is in great condition for its age, and is believed to date from c1986.
The Alpha was originally mounted on an 10m Petit Jean Octagonal steel column in Plymouth.
