CU Column & GEC Z8896

From the 1970s is this 5m CU column complete with GEC Z8896 lantern. A Venner MSQP timeclock was standard fayre for these installations. Although 80w MBFU lamps were fitted originally, these were replaced by 70w SON lamps in later years. Indeed, later examples went in with SON lamps from new.

 

This column has been replaced by a new 6m Steel Corus shaft & ZXU1 lantern.
