Eleco PT828
One of the most prized lanterns in the collection is this post top Eleco. Once commonplace across Plymouth, the PT828 has completely disappeared save for one private example. A unique and pleasing design, they ran 80w or 125w Mercury lamps in service and were normally timeclock controlled. The majority were replaced in the 1980s with either post top lanterns, or conversion brackets and GEC Z8896s.
This example is in near mint condition and luckily the bowl is in superb nick.
The lantern appears to date from 1979, although they were being installed as early as 1963.
