Boloria selene

The pearl-bordered fritillary is primarily a spring butterfly of sheltered, sunny woodland glades and woodland

edges. A UKBAP Priority species, it is one of the most rapidly declining butterflies in Britain and Ireland, although

the declines in Scotland are less severe.
