The Floridian
Amtrak train #40, the perpetually late Floridian, slowly crosses the Neabsco Creek trestle on CSXT's RF&P Subdivision on July 22, 2025. The Floridian travels from Chicago, IL to Miami, FL as train #41 and returns as train #40. It's name is a revival of sorts of an early short lived Amtrak train that was a replacement for the PRR's old South Wind which traveled from Chicago to Miami via a more inland (and much more direct) route which Amtrak initially didn't include in their original schedule from 1971.
