"She always wore a pretty red cloak"

ƒ-Stop | 1.8
Shutter | 1/125
Focal Length | 50mm
My Folio Brief: When reflecting upon the theme 'self', I came across several underlying ideas for my direction of research. The most definitive idea that was birthed, purely from association with the theme of 'self', is "The secretive nature of our thoughts, and associated fear and conflict that arises as a result". Through this, I intend to explore the issues of internal conflict (addressed in my previous 2.1 internal) and the universal concept of self identity.
Through the course of my project, I plan to synthesize my technical ideas and decisions with particular artist models such as Alex Stoddard and Brooke Shaden (photographers who's work I very much appreciate). This is because of the similarities of the underlying ideas in their work to my own proposed ideas. My intention are to base my shoots within natural environments, in order to enhance the impact of my thematic ideas. Primarily, I will employ staged photographic techniques such as lighting and control of subject matter, in order to effectively reflect the ideas within my contrived images. This particular image explores the idea that people often intrude and oppress themselves upon other people with the intention of discovering their secrets / the underlying malaise that results from it.
