Checking and adjusting headstock spindle alignment
Using the Precision Ground MT5 Test Bar, I indicated to both the top and front side of the cylinder close to the chuck, rotated the spindle to check runout using the jog joystick and found runout error was undetectable - essentially zero as measured with 1/1000th resolution the dial indicators. I then checked it again with a 10ths test indicator and found about 0 0.0001" runout at the chuck end.
