A Peacock outside our hotel room window 🐧

There’s also one on our car roof … to the left of the photograph.

 

There is a sign in the hotel car park saying that you park your car at your own risk, and that the hotel isn’t responsible for any damage. So that’s fair enough.

The peacock stayed on our car roof for a couple of hours, and was joined by two white peahens.

Every now and then the peacocks made a really loud screeching sound as if it were being murdered.

 

During our stay we noticed that the peacocks could be anywhere… on the hotel roof, cottage roofs, and sometimes in the hotel lobby.

They weren’t fazed by humans or dogs.

 

We’ve stayed in this hotel (Irton hall hotel) a number of times. Usually we go around bonfire night (of course covid changed this a touch), as it’s out in the sticks and there are no fireworks going off; fireworks scared our dogs.

We always request room 4. It’s a large ground floor dog friendly room. We love it.

 

The hotel is in the west of Cumbria and there are plenty of deserted beaches, mountains, and lakes around.

 

* Bonfire night is the 5th November.
