The Prototype

The first rough working model of the new board game... Fish Food.

15th April 1911.

It is the maiden voyage of the Empire Line’s Atlantic steamship “Lucky Star”. Unfortunately this imposing ocean liner has inadvertently strayed from her intended course and is now sinking… having bumped into some inconveniently positioned rocks.

Passengers have been instructed to head for the lifeboats and abandon ship, but due to a previous oversight at head office… there are no lifeboats aboard the Lucky Star.

However, help is on its way. A passing tugboat, “Wee Bertha”, has answered the distress call and is steaming towards the Lucky Star with the sole intention of rescuing as many passengers as she can carry.

Unluckily, Wee Bertha is a boat of diminutive size… and she cannot rescue every man woman and child aboard the stricken vessel. To make matters worse, she dare not sail too close to the Lucky Star for fear of hitting the rocks herself.

Sharks, sensing a hearty meal is in the offing, are surrounding the sinking liner… as panicking passengers hurl themselves into the dark, unforgiving waters.

Your job is to guide the passengers from the rapidly disappearing decks of the Lucky Star… through the shark infested waters… to the safety of Wee Bertha.

Fish Food is a board game for 3 to 6 unusually buoyant players.
