46053 Rotherham 16Sep77

Reprocessed image

A shot that sums up for me the beauty of rail photography in the 70s: double slips, 3-way points, a couple of 08s, rail-worker with his own style of headwear .... and not a hi-vis jacket or palisade fence in sight.

Against a backdrop of steel mills, Peak no 46053 rounds the curve from Sheffield under clear signals to approach the old Rotherham (Masboro) station with a SW - NE route working. Holmes Lane is the road on the right.
