Summer of '76
With Reedham attracting more interest recently on the back of loco-hauled trains putting in an appearance, I thought it time this shot, uploaded almost 6 years ago, got a wash, scrub up, and reload.
Sadly there's no loco in sight, but it does capture a long-gone Birmingham RC&W built class 104 DMU working a local to Norwich. In a sign of the times it's good to see an almost weedless ballast, even on the passing loop which doesn't look like it has seen a train in a while.
If the grass on the embankment is looking a bit parched that would be no surprise - the shot was taken towards the end of the long, hot summer in 1976, arguably the last "drought" we had.
