Under challenging skies and with headlights gleaming, Azuma unit 800103 bears down on Morpeth station with LNER's 9.52am Aberdeen - London Kings Cross (1E15) service.
Although it doesn't stop here, brakes are applied to negotiate the tight 90 degree left-hand curve immediately behind me - surely one of the tightest on the East Coast Mainline.
A quick shout-out to Greens Cafe on the station - best coffee I tasted in the north-east, and so good I went back for anotherđź‘Ť
