Watching the trains go by

My first visit to the beautifully maintained Hebden Bridge station catches GBRf 'Tug' unit 60087 wheeling through with the 7.22am Liverpool Biomass Terminal - Drax (6E09) loaded wooden pellets.

The station here, which also boasts a cafe, stands in stark contrast to many others in Yorkshire where the Victorian buildings have been swept away and replaced by cold, unwelcoming bus-style shelters on bleak windswept platforms. This architectural vandalism wasn't one of British Rail's finest hours - thankfully many of the remaining buildings are now Listed Status, which at least gives them some protection and raises their public profile.

The gentleman here seems pretty relaxed and is happily distracted by the passing freight train.
