55013 Newark Northgate 7May77
Uploaded for historical value this shot captures Deltic 55013 "The Black Watch" racing south through Newark Northgate under double pegs with the 09.04 Bradford - Kings Cross (1A14) on 7th May 1977.
The point and crossover accessed the GN branch to Bottesford (evidenced by the bracket signal) but track rationalisation was already underway which would see this removed and the layout significantly streamlined. Compare this with another shot recently uploaded taken in January 1979.
