my first PC
This is my first "Personal Computer" - a Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) PDP (Programmed Data Processor) 9 mini-computer in the late 1960's at Aston Univeristy's Centre for Applied Psychology. It had a console with flashing lights and rows of switches, punched paper tape (centre), Teletype 10 character a second keyboard/printer (far left), Dectape bulk storage (to the right), 9 bit bytes, racks of discrete component circuit boards and was as big as a couple of large US-style fridge freezers. A crane was needed to get it into the 1st floor room. They don't make them like this anymore....
