Crossing the Namsen
I've looked at the Namsen viaduct just north of Grong again and again; it's kind of hard to miss since the E6 just passes underneath it. However I could never figure out how to get a good picture of it. The trains are few and some run at dark for much of the year, the mountains are covered with dense forest and the sun barely gets over the mountain in the east anyway. And then there's the norwegian weather and the fact that the viaduct is hours away from other interesting locations. I've basically written it off as "that'll never work".
However... That day I was headed south without much ambition. But the weather cleared up, and the sun was still high enough to light up the scene for the daytime train from Bodø to Trondheim. With the drone it was finally possible to get a good vantage point. Some small clouds added much more suspense than I cared for, but ultimately everything worked out about as well as it could!
