Mountains of the wild
In the Cairngorms the sense of remoteness and wildness is more pronounced than many areas of the British Isles, except perhaps for the North-West Highlands, which are so much more remote and difficult to reach. This photo, taken on the ridge leading to the summit of Braeriach, gives a hint of the primaeval quality of the landscape experience here.
