Living Las Vegas -- The North Strip -- The Mirage Resort & Casino and Treasure Island -- Las Vegas 2016
On the Ninth Day of your Ten Day Las Vegas Fling, The Question Of The Day still remains unanswered as your Final Midnight is in sight -- What Marvelously Magnificent Mischief are you and your very lovely lady prepared to instigate?
Whatever you two plan to do tonight -- Make It Legendary -- Make It Notorious -- And Make It Happen At Treasure Island!
22 years ago, BG, Bernie, and I visited the Vegas Strip for the first time. Treasure Island was a much different place way back then. The Sands Hotel & Casino, where Frank, Dean, and Sammy Jr. held Court in the showroom, was still doing brisk business across the street to the east. The Frontier Hotel & Casino, across the street to the north, had Gilley's Saloon and had the best BBQ on the Vegas Strip. The Fashion Show Mall was young just like the newly opened Treasure Island. The Dunes Hotel & Casino had just been blown-up to make way for construction for the Bellagio. Caesars Palace only had two of its present five resort towers. Excalibur and Bally's were two of the largest hotels in the world back then. Wayne Newton was holding Court at the Stardust. The Landmark Hotel & Casino hadn't been blown-up yet. The Luxor and the New York-New York hadn't been built yet. The Westward-Ho Hotel & Casino had $1 foot-long hotdogs and cheap frozen Margaritas. The New Tropicana was the Old Tropicana back then. Planet Hollywood was the Old Aladdin Hotel & Casino back then. Clearly much has greatly changed on the Vegas Strip since BG, Bernie, and I first arrived at the Old McCarran International Airport on Continental Airlines 22 years ago. One thing, however, hasn't changed over the years -- Life Is Still Good Here!
Can You DIG It!
