#ZumaUnrest
Citizen Protectors
In the wake of the #ZumaUnrest insurrection in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng certain that saw the destruction of retail stores and factories, communities across the province organized local militias to aid the police and security forces that were overwhelmed and to ensure safety and security for communities and for the remaining retail outlets that could become targets for the looters. In many cases South Africans of all colours often from neighboring communities banded together to protect their food and fuel supply rotating shifts 24-hours per day. As law and order is restored their presence will no longer be needed. However, the relationships that have been built and the shared objectives are likely to remain.
