David says: "Taking photographs when other people are struggling with their daily lives tends to highlight its intrusive, sometimes even transgressive, aspects. It's quite embarrassing to be the jerk with the camera - not helping, getting in people's way, behaving badly. Sometimes the response recorded is excruciating to behold."
